Join us for the Giant Duck Race
Active Fakenham, in partnership the Fakenham and District Rotary Club, is thrilled to be putting on this event. Join us to watch these ducks.
Why your business should join in
We hope your business decides to support this community project. We will aim to make the event as much fun as possible and encourage participation and attendance. We will also help promote your duck (and therefore your business). Any money raised will go towards community events in Fakenham and a contribution is also being made to local schools and Fakenham First Focus.

The event will be widely promoted across a range of media including the local press, social media and our websites.
• Your “Duck” will be included in the https://www.activefakenham.org.uk/fakenham-corporate-duck-race-2023
• Your Duck can be decorated with your own identifying livery. You can either decorate it yourself or we can arrange for it to be decorated by a local school or community group.
• Once decorated we will display the ducks in the Fakenham Info Hub in the Town Centre until the day of the race.
• We hope to arrange a photo opportunity where you can be photographed with your duck.
• You will be supporting Active Fakenham and local charities. Over the last twelve months Active Fakenham’s events have included producing and distributing the Fakenham Town Guide, The Easter Sunday Funday and races, school theatre performances for around 500 children, The Riverside Festival and Races, The Get Active in Fakenham Week with dozens of free or low cost taster sessions, Ride North Norfolk Cycle ride from the Fakenham Community Centre, free cycle services and safety checks, and more. We have also set up the Fakenham Info Hub in the Market place providing information for visitors and residents.
• The winning company will have a cup to display for the year and there are some exciting prizes.
How it works
A payment of £75 will secure your business a place in the Fakenham Giant Duck Race, supported by local businesses- and the duck is yours to keep! You can decorate your Duck to advertise your business……the brighter the better! If your business already owns a Duck from a previous ‘Active Fakenham Duck Race’ the entry cost is reduced to £50. If you do not want to decorate your own duck we can arrange for a local school to do this for you.
Any money raised will go towards community events in Fakenham and a contribution is also being made to Fakenham First Focus. We also support three local schools by donating tickets to them.

Our cardboard raft race is a fun family event. We are looking for some exciting and colourful boats, so why not give it a go? You must pre-book for this event. It is run in partnership with Wensum Ospreys canoe club., you can learn more about them by clicking here . Free to enter We have limited spaces so please book early. We will aim to do this by: • listing entries on our website • posting on social media (we do Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) • distributing press and media releases • the event will be photographed and filmed (tbc) and these will be available to you as well as shared on social media and websites - we will arrange a photo shoot at the Bridge in Goggs Mill Road at Goggs Mill Bridge prior to the event.
