Free or low cost, interesting and fun.
This years Active Fakenham Week will take place from the 19th to the 27th August. All the activities will be free or low cost, interesting and fun. Many will be tasters of what is available in the town throughout the year.
Richard Crook, event organiser said, “We started the Get Active Week around eleven years ago and it’s still going strong. It’s a winner all round, local people get to join an activity and local organisations get to showcase what they can offer. I have been shocked at the cost of some of the activities available in north Norfolk this year. We focus on making ours inclusive which is why we insist on low cost or free but at the same time they are exciting and fun.”
So far forty two activities will be on offer over the nine days. These range through free gym membership for the week, singing and writing workshops, yoga, fascinating talks, sports to try out, archery, free cycle safety checks, events specifically for older and younger people and more. The Get Active Week culminates in the popular non-competitive community cycle event, Ride North Norfolk which takes place on Sunday 27th August.
Richard added, “We have examples of how this week can support the ongoing success of regular opportunities in the town as well as how it attracts people to the high street”
The organisers would like to thank the many clubs, businesses and people who help to make this possible.
